I'm not really sure about this postcard at all. It's largely the horse and cart that makes me think that this is likely Edwardian. I'm unable to match the back of the card with others in my collection. Through the County Hall you can see 8 Marketplace. Kelly's directory has A. Bond, Milliner at 8 Marketplace. The Faringdon Advertiser of 1/5/09 shows a sale of the estate of Annie Bond, having been removed from the Market Place. Abingdon Free Press of 17/9/09 has James Nelson & Sons Ltd, meat importers, at this address. This matches the end of the sign in the photo. By 1914 they had undergone a merger and become the British and Argnetine Meat Co. It's possible that the photo dates within this period, depending on how long individual shops kept their branding after the merger.
