This card is unposted but I've seen another example for sale that was postmarked August 4th 1909. The Crown and Thistle is a courtyard inn that dates back to the early 17th century. There a few later postcards from other publishers featuring the same view of the cobbled courtyard, and they mostly unchanged from this one. Perhaps this card was made as a souvinier for people staying at the hotel?
