Sent from Paulin William Barrett (b. 1886) of 12 Marcham Road, to Nellie Gamble Edgson. Paulin and Nellie would marry in 1912. This card apepars to have been taken sometime in late summer - the trees are in full growth and a sizable hayrick is in the field. The Nag's Head is visible in the distance. The causeway is thought to date to around 1416 when stone bridges were built over the Thames and Swift ditch. The causeway connects them in wet weather and floods.
