In the 1901 census William Baigent, a retired custom officer, his wife Jane and daughter Florence are living at 169 Priory Road. The 1911 census has a Beatrice Mary Townsend living at 1 Spring Road Terrace which matches the initials BMT used to sign the postcard. She was the wife of Thomas Townsend, brewer, maltster, mayor of Abingdon, and founding father of Abingdon Museum. The photographer was likely Frank Warland Andrew who lived at 4 Spring Terrace.
